As a Protestant welfare organization, Diakonie Düsseldorf is a central point of contact for many social issues. 2,600 employees and 1,600 volunteers help at 180 locations. These include addiction counseling, daycare centers, schools and, last but not least, nursing and retirement homes or mobile care for the elderly.
