The word »Caritas« is derived from Latin and means love (of one’s neighbor), Christian activity of love, charity. In accordance with its statutes, the Caritas Association Düsseldorf is dedicated to all tasks of social and charitable assistance in Düsseldorf in cooperation with the parishes and Catholic professional associations.

The Caritasverband Düsseldorf is active in many areas of church social work at the local level. Care for the elderly and sick, counseling, therapy, help for children, youth and families, social and professional integration are essential fields of activity.
